Amid a traumatic mishap while on a remote ocean make a plunge the profundities of the Atlantic Ocean, Olive, a skilled, youthful sea life scientist finds an unearthly animal. Loosing her fantasy work, Olive carries the animal home, aim on examining it in her storm cellar, unbeknownst to her committed beau Matt. While attempting to re-change in accordance with landlocked life and recoup from her current injury, Olive starts to understand that she and the animal share a harmonious bond that drives her to complete its evil will. Tormented by grisly bad dreams, her cracked recollections of what occurred amid the mishap in the profundities of the sea start to unwind and uncover an eldritch awfulness far more seasoned and vindictive than she would ever envision, one which she has unwittingly set free.
